I was charged after my free trial — how do I get a refund?

If your Belle+ free trial ended and you got charged unexpectedly, you’re not alone — this is the single most common support question Belle gets. The refund is usually possible; here’s exactly how.

Why this happened

Belle+ subscriptions auto-renew at the end of the free trial unless you cancel before the trial ends. The renewal is processed by Apple (if you subscribed on iPhone/iPad) or Google (if you subscribed on Android), not by Belle directly. That’s why Belle doesn’t show the charge in your account history — it shows up on your Apple or Google receipt.

This isn’t an excuse — we know the trial-then-charge flow is frustrating. The fix is fast.

Step 1 — Cancel future renewals (do this first)

Before requesting the refund, cancel the subscription so you don’t get charged again at the next billing cycle. See How to cancel Belle+ for the exact steps per platform.

Step 2 — Request the refund

If you subscribed on iPhone/iPad:

1. Open reportaproblem.apple.com in any browser 2. Sign in with your Apple ID 3. Find the Belle charge under «Subscriptions» 4. Tap Report a ProblemRequest a refund 5. Choose a reason («I didn’t mean to renew» works) and submit

Apple typically responds within 24–48 hours. If you request within 14 days of the charge, they almost always approve. After 14 days, it’s still worth asking — Apple has approved refunds up to 60 days out for clear cases.

If you subscribed on Android:

1. Open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions in a browser (or the Play Store app) 2. Find your Belle subscription 3. Tap Cancel (if not already done) and then Request refund 4. Choose a reason and submit

Google’s window is shorter — they tend to approve refunds within 48 hours of purchase automatically. After that, you have to email Google Play support and explain the trial situation. Be specific: «I didn’t intend to renew after the free trial; please refund.»

If you subscribed via the Belle Web App:

Email returns@bellehealth.co with your account email and the date of the charge. We can refund directly since we processed the payment.

Step 3 — If Apple or Google declines

It happens occasionally, especially if the charge is older. Email returns@bellehealth.co with:

  • Your Belle account email
  • The date and amount of the charge
  • The platform (Apple, Google, or Web)
  • A screenshot of the decline if you have one

We’ll see what we can do on Belle’s side. We don’t process the original payment, so we can’t refund directly for App Store purchases — but we can sometimes credit your account or arrange other resolutions.

How to avoid this next time

If you decide a free trial isn’t for you, cancel before the trial ends (not after). Cancelling during the trial doesn’t shorten your free access — you keep using Belle+ until the trial period would have ended, and then it just doesn’t renew. There’s no penalty for cancelling early.

A small honest note

The trial-then-auto-renew flow is the App Store / Play Store standard. Belle didn’t invent it and we can’t opt out of it without losing those distribution channels. We know it catches people; that’s why this article exists and why we approve almost every «I forgot to cancel» refund request that lands in our inbox.
