PMDD Course vs Belle+: what’s the difference?

Belle sells two paid products inside the Cycle App. They sound similar, the names overlap, and the receipts look almost identical — but they’re meaningfully different. Here’s the clean answer.

The two products

Belle+ subscription

  • Recurring monthly or annual fee
  • Unlocks premium app features: PMDD pattern analysis (DSM-5 + PSST/DRSP), perimenopause stage tracking (STRAW+10), doctor-ready PDF exports, CBT toolkit, cycle-aware coaching, priority email support
  • Auto-renews until you cancel
  • Not HSA / FSA eligible

PMDD Course (one-time purchase)

  • One-time payment, roughly the cost of a year of Belle+
  • A 12-week structured PMDD program inside the Cycle App
  • Includes 12 months of Belle+ premium features bundled in
  • Does not auto-renew
  • HSA / FSA eligible (qualifies as medical education under IRS Section 213(d))

Which one is right for me?

Choose Belle+ if:

  • You want ongoing premium features and don’t need a structured program
  • You’re not specifically focused on PMDD, or you already understand your PMDD pattern and just want the tracking tools
  • You prefer recurring billing you can cancel anytime
  • You don’t have FSA / HSA funds to use

Choose the PMDD Course if:

  • You want a guided 12-week program designed specifically for PMDD
  • You want to use FSA / HSA funds (the Course is the eligible option)
  • You prefer a one-time payment over a subscription
  • You want 12 months of Belle+ access included with no separate subscription decision

Can I have both at the same time?

No, and you don’t need to. The PMDD Course includes 12 months of Belle+ as part of the purchase, so buying the Course while also having an active Belle+ subscription would mean paying for the same premium features twice.

If you’re currently on Belle+ and want to do the PMDD Course, the cleanest path:

1. Cancel your Belle+ subscription (so it doesn’t auto-renew during the Course period). See How to cancel Belle+. 2. Buy the PMDD Course. Your premium access continues uninterrupted for 12 months. 3. After 12 months, decide whether to restart a Belle+ subscription separately.

What happens after the Course’s 12 months?

The bundled Belle+ access expires. The PMDD Course content stays in your account — you can revisit any of the 12 weeks of material anytime. The premium tracking features lock back to the free tier unless you start a Belle+ subscription.

We do not auto-renew the PMDD Course or auto-charge you for a new Belle+ subscription when the Course period ends. You’ll get an email when access is about to expire, and the choice is yours.

What if I bought the wrong one?

If you bought the PMDD Course when you really just wanted a Belle+ subscription, or vice versa: refund and switch is the path. See Charged after free trial — refund for the refund process per platform, then buy the right one.

If you used FSA / HSA funds for the Course, refunding back to the FSA / HSA card may have implications — check with your administrator. Email returns@bellehealth.co and we’ll help work through it.

Honest naming note

The fact that both products show up on receipts with similar names is on us. We’re working on clearer naming for the next iteration. For now, this page exists so anyone confused has a clear answer in front of them.
